About Us
UrbAnatomy Lab is a New Delhi-based think tank and consulting practice focused on providing design and urban planning solutions at multiple scales. We have worked on some of the most critical urban development issues experienced by communities in India and the Global South today. These involve fortifying people, places and institutions against the disaster risks due to Climate Change.
Our work has involved adaptation and mitigation measures like area-based and pan-city strategies for decarbonising transportation and urban mobility in Indian cities; disaster risk management; restoration of natural resources; nature based solutions; road safety; street and junction design; placemaking; community outreach; advocacy; and visual communication and messaging around these issues.
As a multidisciplinary collaborative, we follow our design-test-iterate approach of making our spaces and cities more engaging, inclusive, healthy and enjoyable. Our process centers on the people and communities we serve being co-designers of their environments. Our team has as much academic experience as on-ground implementation and we continuously strive to optimise design to create thriving urban systems that are sustainable and efficient for, both, people and the planet.
